Which Courthouse Handles a Foreclosure in Raymond

Knowing where your file lives makes the process a great deal less abstract.

Foreclosures in Alberta are heard in the Court of King's Bench. A lender cannot sell your home without going through the court, and for Raymond that means Lethbridge Courthouse, 320 4 St S.

Title work runs separately, through Land Titles South. Land Titles has been slow since the counters closed to walk-ins in September 2025, with registrations reported taking around a hundred days, so build that into any plan with a deadline in it.

A little about Raymond

A County of Warner town roughly 25 to 30 km south-east of Lethbridge, founded in 1901 on sugar-beet agriculture, and home to Canada's first rodeo — the Raymond Stampede has run since 1902. The population is about 4,199.

Agriculture, historically sugar beets, in a town founded in 1901 — and the birthplace of Canada's first rodeo, which has run since 1902.

Agricultural income arrives seasonally and unevenly, which is entirely normal here and still awkward on a lender's forms. If your income follows the growing season, show the pattern across two or three years rather than one thin quarter — a lender responds to evidence of a cycle far better than to a single bad number without context.

What actually happens

Less than people fear. Much of a foreclosure is documents rather than hearings, and an undefended claim moves through its stages without anyone standing up in a courtroom. That is also the risk — the process advances whether or not you engage, so engaging is how you keep a say in it.
